George Mnyalaza Milwa Pemba
( 1912 - )

Born 1912 in the Eastern Cape, now living in Port Elizabeth.

A painter of figures,  landscapes and still life set in a rural and urban genre. Works in watercolour,  chalk and oil. One of the fathers of black South African art.

1937 and 1947  - Scholarship Fort Hare African Trust

1986 - Alliance Française,  Pretoria,  Perspective of black art in SA
He has participated in various exhibitions in South Africa.
1995 -First solo-exhibition at the Everard Read Gallery,  Johannesburg
