DAVID JAMES BROWN ( 1951 -  )

Born 1951 in Johannesburg.

David works mainly in bronze, wood and steel but recently started working with various mixed mediums and is currently doing collage constructions which he combines with his sculpture and plaster of Paris casts.
A sculptor of figures and beastlike animals which he combines with machines, platforms and ships. During 1983-85 he did a series called  " Procession, Man, Animal and Machine"
Studies :
1970 - 73 - Diploma in Graphic Design at the Michaelis School of Fine Art
1974 - Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Art at the Michaelis School of Fine Art, Cape Town 
Exhibitions :
David participated in many group exhibitions in South Africa, Switzerland and West Germany since 1975
1975 - Cape Town, first of six solo exhibitions held in Cape Town and Johannesburg
1981 - Republic Festival Exhibition
1985 - Tributaries, touring South Africa and West Germany
1987 - Johannesburg Art Gallery, Vita Art Now
