DOUBLE BILL – TWO ART AUCTIONS IN ONE EVENING!
TOGETHER WITH OUR REGULAR YEARLY AUCTION, WE ARE CELEBRATING PENINSULA SCHOOL FEEDING ASSOCIATION’S 50TH ANNIVERSARY!
Our regular yearly auction of contemporary art will take place at 34 Long St, Cape Town, on Wednesday 26 November 2008, at
19h00 with viewing starting on 4 November.
Onauction is proud to be associated with the Peninsula School Feeding Association (PSFA) for this special event. Twenty milk cans, transformed into works of art by prominent artists such as Paul du Toit, Kevin Brand, Ndikhumbule Ngqinambi and others, as well as 3 milk cans decorated by children, will be auctioned and 100% of the proceeds will go towards feeding hungry children at school. PSFA, a registered non profit organization, currently feeds 160 000 children in more than 600 primary, secondary and special needs schools. The auction, which will be conducted by Andries Loots, is the 2nd milk can fundraising project for PSFA, and is sponsored by Pick ‘n Pay.
Auctioning contemporary art is part of Onauction’s ongoing practice of selling high quality fine art pieces twice a year, giving collectors an opportunity to invest in an asset class which yields enjoyment as well as profit.
Artworks for this auction will be exhibited at 34 Fine Long Art from 4 November, giving prospective buyers ample time to make informed decisions before the hammer falls! Buying at an auction is the most thrilling way to experience contemporary art, and on this occasion, supporting a most worthy cause as well!
