Contemporary Art Auction - 13 June -  34 Long, Cape Town.

Last winter’s hugely successful contemporary art auction at 34LONG will be followed by a second auction on Tuesday 13 June this year.

The South African art world is ready for a regular auction dedicated exclusively to contemporary visual work. 

Contemporary South African art has gained increased international respect over the last few years because of recognition received by artists like Zwelethu Mthethwa, William Kentridge, Marlene Dumas. It has developed into a distinct, strongly-growing market locally and internationally. The notion that a clear distinction should be drawn between older, ‘classic’ works, modern works and contemporary art (works produced in the last 10 years) has been gaining currency. 

This auction responds to this growing demand. The potential buyer of contemporary art will be offered a unique and enjoyable experience. No more sitting through endless lots of furniture and dark works, waiting for the contemporary art section! 

All lots are in good condition and specially selected.
