34 LONG in conjunction with ONAUCTION announces an exciting auction exclusively dedicated to prints and multiples.
In order to offer quality art at affordable prices, we plan to sell by auction a carefully selected collection of prints and multiples in various media at our gallery, 34 Long Street in Cape Town, on Wednesday 4 October 2006 at 18h30.

This auction, a first in South Africa, is conceived to address the growing demand from new collectors for quality artworks produced in techniques and media which permit production of multiples of a unique original. Examples are lithographs, serigraphs, etchings, photography and cast sculpture. It is an axiom of art collecting that a collection is enhanced more by quality prints than by mediocre originals, simply because quality will always remain the most important index of value.
Entrance to the world of art collecting is made easier and more thrilling by investing in editioned multiples. An informed and sophisticated community of art collectors is fundamental to vibrant and energetic production of art.
