The Association For Visual Arts (AVA), 35 Church Street, Cape Town, is hosting a solo exhibition by WILLIE BESTER. The exhibition was opened by Linda Givon on Monday, 7 April and will run until Saturday, 26 April 2003. 

'Monument vir die Agtergeblewenes'

Among the approximately twenty pieces on show, is one large sculpture made from industrial waste and recycled scrap entitled “Monument vir die Agtergeblewenes”.

A large relief wall sculpture entitled “Family Unit” examining problems experienced in normal families on a daily basis.

The remainder of the exhibition comprise portraits and still-life paintings on canvas, either framed in BESTER’S unique manner making use of distressed and painted metal or using spades as a backdrop.
