Artist in Residence - Moshekwa Langa

South African born artist Moshekwa Langa, who is permanently based in the Netherlands, has risen to fame overseas long before being noticed in his own country. 

Invited at a very young age to study at the Rijksakademie voor Beeldende Kunst in Amsterdam, Langa started making a career and a name for himself in various countries from Greece, Switzerland and the America's. He is a multi talented artist and is known for his innovative use of media such as video, paints,  found objects and collage.

 Moshekwa,  as artist in residence can be seen with a new exhibition " FRESH " at the South African National Gallery till the 5 February 2002.

The residency is part of a larger project that has enabled seven young South African artists to participated in residencies at the Gallery. Fresh is funded by the Prince Bernard Cultural Fund through an award made to Marlene Dumas.
